Beauty Attracts

What attracts us?  Lexus put on quite the party themed with the laws of attraction this week to introduce the new Lexus LS and we had the inside scoop with designer Jonathan Adler and creative director Simon Doonan, who co-curated the event.

Toujours Editor-in-Chief Meghan Beierle-O'Brien and Design Editor Emily Ruddo giddy after interviewing Simon Doonan and Jonathan Adler.  They were so cheeky and fun - great interview, which will come out in the next issue of Toujours!

All sorts of anticipation brewing as the Lexus is about to be officially revealed:

 We got to take a look inside the LS Hybrid, which we will reveal next week - so fabulous - the attention to detail on this car is impeccable.  And sensational photographer Ellen von Unwerth photographed celebrity power couples, such as Jonathan Adler and Simon Doonan, Jaime King and Kyle Newman, & Jason Schwartzman and Brady Cunningham with the new LS.

We are heading up to San Francisco this weekend for the launch & exhibit of the 2013 Lexus LS curated by the ever talented Jonathan Adler and Simon Doonan!  We'll also be doing some scouting and shopping while we're up there - Have great tips on your favorite shops in SF?  Let us know!

Designer Emily Ruddo of Armonia Decors gives great tips for creating a festive, easy Fourth of July party!  Here are some extra photos and tips for great decorating.

Giving your guests a little snack while they eat is always a good idea - and we love how Emily garnished the glass with a slice of watermelon!

Simple roses and peonies make our dessert table sing!  And just throwing simple Red Vines in a glass and finding red and blue M&M's help round out the theme.

 We love the tropical outdoor blue table cloth paired with red and white polka dotted napkins Emily chose!  And these little shells are a great way to keep your napkins from blowing away.

We love Emily's cupcake fruit toppers - a healthy and pretty way to decorate - we only use food coloring in non-edible decorations!

Inside Art Photo Shoot Extras!!

Having spent the day with artists Alison Rossiter and Stuart Rome, which are featured in this issue's Inside Art article, we couldn't resist posting some extra shots from the shoot.  They are both so talented, and Editor-in-Chief Meghan Beierle-O'Brien and Art Editor Sasha Sullivan had the best time exploring Alison's art studio in Manhattan, and took way too many photos to fit into the article!  So, here are a few more of our favorites.  If you haven't already seen the issue, click here!

Asia Society Gala: Toujours Table Decor!

Toujours Magazine was asked to create a designer table for this week's Asia Society Gala at the Plaza Hotel in New York.  Co-Founder Meghan Beierle-O'Brien and Art Director Dana Beierle worked tirelessly to put together the perfect table decor.  They decided on a youthful/feel and hung lit globes from a cherry blossom tree, filled tall cylinders with delicate orchids and fighter fish, lined the table with a Chinese inspired fuschia table runner, infused color, and used lots of glass and candles to create a shimmering table.  

It was an amazing night chaired by benefactors Betsy and Ed Cohen and Stephanie and John Foster.  And the Toujours table had the honor of hosting John Foster and his guests!  We were delighted to meet talented interior and clothing designers throughout the night.  And we will definitely be posting more photos of the event.  But first, here are some shots of the table!
